Responsibilities:
- Conceptualize, develop, implement and release production processes during Product Engineering Process (PEP) and Product Transfer Process (PTP) projects for new products introduction within its required quality, costs and timeline.
- Lead & participate in Improvement Projects (SIP, CIP) on demand.
- Lead and own 2 production technologies as Process Engineer during PEP/PTP project and as a Local / Global Technology Owner (LTO / GTO) a. Molding Technology – Injection Molding, Over Molding, Hotmelt Molding, Connector over-molding etc. b. Cable Harnessing Technology – Cut & Strip, Crimping, etc.
- Lead and own 2 product groups (Molded plastic part & cable / connector) as a Local Product counterpart for Production / Business Unit / Innovation Unit / Research & Development
- Participate & Deliver results in Projects at SEA regional level and if needed at Global Projects
- Plan and manage own budget & timeline & communicate with Supply Chain project leader
- Discuss the design & production process concept (DFM / DFA)
- Participate actively in Risk Assessment (P-FMEA or similar tools)
- Select the most suitable technology (from Technology supermarket or similar) & perform feasibility studies if required
- Prepare process qualification plan
- Technical management of reliability test & qualification process with Quality department
- Prepare machine requirements, develop the process parameters, evaluate and qualify different material, create work instructions
- Perform machine, fixture and process releases using standard methodology (MSA, capability studies) and software (e.g. Minitab, qs-STAT)
- Request, consult and release fixtures which impact product / process quality
- Prepare new machine set-up, operation, maintenance procedures
- Perform prototype build, follow-up pilot run and troubleshoot process problems during the build
- Define the critical process parameters, prepare process control plan, and provide training to staff
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechatronics / Electronic / Mechanical / Material Science Engineering or equivalent.
- At least 07 years working professional experience in manufacturing with /process engineering in molding environment, preferably in mechatronic / electronics / mechanical or automotive products.
- Possess theoretical & practical knowledge & experience to industrialize & introduce new products as a Process Engineer, following industrial standard procedure like APQP, DFSS, etc.
- Possess in-depth theoretical (material science, methodology) & industrial relevant (mold & machine-related) experience in the molding (must-have) and cable harnessing area.
- The molding knowledge should be in the following area:
- material property & flow (viscosity, pressure, temperature)
- part-form simulation, review & verification (drawing design simulation)
- mold design understanding (steel properties, roughness, hardness & mold structure)
- mold simulation, review & verification (material, cavity layout, gate layout, shot weight, cooling, hot runner, material flow, temperature control, pressure control, etc)
- machine and parameter setup & verification & maintenance
- mold setup & verification & maintenance
- defect analysis & problem solving related to molding
- The cable harnessing knowledge should be in the following area
- Cable cutting & stripping machine verification and setup
- Cable crimping machine & tools setup and verification acc. to industrial standard
- Connector over-molding process setup and verification
- Have project management skill, able to plan and adapt quality, cost, time depending on different scenario.
- Good problem solving skills with track record
- Understand preventive maintenance methodology & execution
- Good English skills
